A short article in progress.
Ask yourself the following questions before posting anything to your business instagram account
Q1 Does it (this content) promote sales, skills or income?
Q2 Is it helpful? Does it provide a value?
Q3 Is it career focused?
Q4 Is it a photo showing you in any of these contexts?
Q5 Who are you posting this for? Who is your target audience?
Q6 How do you want to be perceived?
- Present time: Is this photograph of you current? Ideally the photo shows you conducting your business, delivering your service, creating your craft. People like to see the face behind your business. A faceless business has a harder time gaining audience/ customer confidence and trust. (This should not be a memorabilia photo of times you are nostalgic about without any relationship to your business, service or craft.)
- Education / Information: Does this post contain something that brings value to your audience? Does it empower your audience with tangible facts, steps they can take to better themselves?
- Business: Are you sharing business related insights, activities, information?
If the answer is NO then don’t post it on your brand account and post it to a personal, private one instead. Remember that unless your personal account is set to private people may still see your content. It is totally ok if your photos are unedited and unrelated to your professional life but don’t use foul language or content that conflicts with the image that you are trying to create for yourself on your brand account.
